Tuesday Thoughts [4]- Real Love

{via}

love isn't always a feeling.
it's more of an action,
becuase love isn't sometimes-
it's for always,
and feelings only last so long
before they die away.
real love isn't like that;
it's an ongoing sacrifice
-and sometimes it hurts-
but it's worth it if it's real.
so don't rely on feelings
as your confirmation about love.
becuase while feelings will fade,
real love never fails.

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. // John 15:13

....Love never fails... // 1 Corinthians 13:8a

But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. // Romans 5:8

  4. This was a great post, Emily, and a very good message. :)As a side note, I follow an email thing where they send Christian quotes every day, and today's quote was:

    Christ is put forward as the example of how we should love, and that is the most effective argument. How great was Christ’s love? What kind of love was his? Christ voluntarily gave himself up to death because of his great love for us—the greatest love anyone could have, in fact. The apostle asks us to imitate him.

    Those two things go together very well, and are a wonderful message!! Thanks for sharing!

  7. Mmm, so true. real love isn't like that; it's an ongoing sacrifice. It isn't going to be easy or comfortable. But where He calls, He makes a way! Thanks for sharing, Emily - a convicting piece of poetry.

  8. Beautiful! God's love is a sacrificial true love that lasts always and forever. 1 Corinthians 13:13 says that three things remain; faith, hope and love. God is love. He always remains.
